| | | | | | Joining Sutton Park School | | Sutton Park School Admissions Policy | Junior & Intermediate School The number of children admitted to Sutton Park Junior School is limited. Decisions about the admission of pupils to the School are made in line with the goals that are the hallmark of a Sutton Park education: small class size, rich diversity, and a healthy balance of boys and girls. Special consideration is always given to the siblings of current students. Other than in exceptional circumstances, classes in the Junior School ideally have 20 pupils and usually do not exceed a maximum of 24 at the upper end of the School (Grade 4,5 & 6).
The normal procedure for applicant families begins with the arrangement of an appointment for the parents and child(ren) to meet the Principal of the Junior School. Parents are asked to produce school reports and a written report from the child(ren)'s previous school. If a child appears to be a suitable candidate, arrangement is made for him or her to spend some time in a class deemed by the Principal to be most appropriate for the child's age and ability. Once it is determined that the child can cope with the class programme, and provided that the child meets the above goals, a place will be offered. | Senior School In building and maintaining an international and co-educational learning community, the School seeks candidates from all parts of Ireland and from other nations, who have demonstrated independence, maturity and concern for others, in addition to strong performance in studies and activities. Students seeking admission to Sutton Park Senior School must show evidence of sound character and strong academic achievement.
Sutton Park School does not discriminate on the basis of gender, sexual orientation, race, colour, national and ethnic origin in the administration of its educational policies, admission policies, scholarship and financial aid programmes, and sports and other School-administered programmes.
The School may require additional educational testing before making a decision to make the best match between the School and the student's needs and to assure appropriate support for all students admitted. Students will be admitted based on the candidate’s Application Form, complete record (academic and social), interview, examination results (when applicable), space, and the needs of the School.
