Message From The Ark to Ms McGuire, Sutton Park.
Thank you to you and your students for your participation in the National Lottery filming at The Ark yesterday. I am please to tell you that the filming will be broadcast as part of The National Lottery Skyfest on Sat 13th March live on RTE at 7.30pm.
I hope that you all enjoyed the performance and we look forward to seeing you in The Ark again soon.

Addition In previous years the guidance department has been busy developing essential pastoral care policies in the areas of substance abuse and anti – bullying. However this year sees the focus on career guidance and college placement facilitation. The departments’ main aim is to integrate with all academic departments. As the framework states, ‘it sets to one side the stereotypical image of guidance being the remit of one department in a school and places it at the centre of the students whole education.’ The department of education states that guidance must adopt a whole school approach to guidance.
This year saw a review of the schools’ career night with the possibility to extend career talks throughout the year, however due to an ever intense timetable for the students this could proof less successful and reverting may be likely. An alternative would be career days or weeks which would see different departments in the school put forward focused seminars on their subject focused careers. A committee is being developed to formalize the schools guidance policy and our first meeting will take place after mid term.
