Junior Certificate Home Economics is a three-year programme, from First to Third Year.
In Transition Year (Fourth Year), Home Economics is an optional subject. However, students who intend to sit Home Economics in the Leaving Certificate are advised to take the subject in Transition Year.
Students follow a two-year programme of Home Economics to Leaving Certificate level and may choose to sit the Examination at Higher Level or Ordinary Level. | Ms Eimear Fitgerald
