Transition Year at Sutton Park has at its core the desire to mix academic social and personal development of each student. It is viewed as an important part of the student’s development into students who can handle the pressure of a detailed 2 year Leaving Certificate programme by a process of developing skills that have begun in Junior Cycle. Transition Year allows our students to choose subjects for Leaving Cert in a safe environment where they can make mistakes that cannot be made in 5th year because of pressure of time. The timetable and subject choices mirror that of the 5th Year timetable whilst at the same time offering a rich programme of enrichment and development as part of the school day.
